View Full Version : Ratrod/hotrod project
SOLD!!!
I'm thinking about selling this, hate to do it but I want to re-arrange our vehicle/garage situation. Badbuggy isn't going to like this... :eek3:
I've been collecting parts & slowly assembling this as a tinker-project. It's a Dodge Modified project. Here's a list of what I have.
1919 Dodge Brothers tub; Was a 4 door once, cut down to 2. No doors, was going to fab some sheetmetal to fill the hole, weld them in place & step into the car. Rockers are rusted thru, but good body for a rat rod. Painted flat black.
Farmall M tractor grill; Excellent shape, uncut with original 'Farmall' emblem. Painted flat black.
Mid-70's Caddy 500 CID V8; Has been sitting for a few years, ran when pulled. Might take a little work to get running, but should be very strong. Have most/all related engine parts.
TH400 Auto trans w/ BOP bellhousing; Also ran when pulled, can't tell you more than that. Includes converter.
Ford 9" rear axle from Early Bronco; Leaks, probably 3.-- something gears. Perfect width for hotrod projects.
Ford Model A front axle; Wishbones already split, bungs welded in, TRE's installed, wishbone brackets, etc. I have Ford Juice brakes (mid-30's) in great shape, brakes alone are worth around $400-500. Also has new, aftermarket spring, was planning on suicide axle setup.
Ford F1 steering setup; Includes steering wheel, column, steering box, etc. Great vintage steering setup that will work with front axle.
Custom Frame built for this body; 2" x 3" x .120" rectangular steel frame. Already cut and tacked together, needs frame gussets and finish welding. $120 worth of steel.
Here's the build thread, you can see all the stuff that's been done so far & what's included. - http://www.rockymountainextreme.com/showthread.php?t=36968
There's some other stuff, the rear suspension is nearly done. 4 link with rod ends. Front suspension needs to have spring bracket built and wishbone brackets mounted to frame. The chassis could be a roller with a small amout of work.. There's a bunch of fab work that needs to be done, obviously it's a big project but still something that you can get into for cheap & make yours. I have some helpful extras, new Caddy header flanges, wheels/tires, MORE motor mounts, etc.
I'm into the parts over $1500... SOLD!!! See page 3 for details.

Daisy is awesome, very much a part of our family... she's our child. :o She has developed some of the famous Weim traits, sneeking food off the counter, opening doors in the house, etc. We scold her, but secretly laugh about what she did. She's an amazing dog, so much personality it blows us away every day. She is soooooo spoiled too, Catherine took her camping a couple weeks ago & Daisy got to share the 2 person sleeping bag.
You probably haven't seen this, it's pretty funny. She became a YouTube star, 35 comments and 55k views! -

Dodge Modified is now sale-pending.

Forget this, I still have it... Dodge Modified is still available. First person with cash in hand gets it!!
Alright, I just got laid-off and need to scrounge up some cash. This thing has to go... $750!
You could sell the parts for twice that or put it together and sell it for about $6k. Now for the bad part... I have had 4 people tell me that they will FOR SURE take it since I've had it for sale. I'm tired of people yanking my chain on this, I have had my time wasted, took a day off for one guy and he never showed which means I lost a days pay, etc, etc. I'm so tired of people bullshitting me with this.
Cash only, buyer picks it up, DON'T contact me if you don't have cash and a way to move it, etc. If I have anyone say they want it, I want a non-refundable $250 deposit. Reply here or PM me.

I kow what you mean about laid off and selling your projects off. I did that three years ago when I was out of work for 3 months. THen i sold stuff off I'd collected for another project when I moved from California to Utah two year ago. I'm kind of leary about collecting parts now (though there is some stuff int he shed again...)...
Good luck. And my wife already said no to the rat...
