annual moab trip 8-16may
background: i go to moab couple times a year for wheeling and this year it looks like it'll be 8-16May10. It's just a small group of friends who get together. We think more is better on the trail so i'll throw this out there in case any RME folks want to come. (Every time i've done this i've met new friends from RME).
trails we like and will probably run again:
pritchett canyon
kane creek
pickle
area BFE
golden crack/spike
others?
anyone who might be interested can let me know. Every year there is a bit of carnage. But we do have kids along and we're NOT hard core with buggies or anything. My only rules are: if you've never wheeled before and have a rental, this is the wrong group. If you have a dana 35 and no spare axle, then get one . And none of the trails we'll run are for beginners in a stock jeep with no lockers. With that said i've never left anyone behind, we've always helped and supported one another, and we enjoy a beer when its appropriate.

I wish I could make it! I have had a blast wheeling with you in the past. Come out to South Dakota sometime!
How has Texass been?

I might be up for it, especially if I get my Aussie locker before then. With the d35 I would stick with easier stuff like Metal Masher, Hells Revenge, and PSM. But with the d44 in now I might be up for some more challenging trails, assuming they aren't too tipsy. Last year I went down for Memorial weekend and had a blast, a week earlier might be doable this year.
Worse case scenario I can just grab a seat with someone to get a feel for the harder trails to judge future trips.

Matt, it's great wheeling with ya. Too bad you're so far the wrong direction.
ZJ, it'd be great to have ya along. i'm sure you'd be fine.
embarrassing edit, meant to insert the word NOT in there with buggies. haha we're not buggy drivers. Anyway we're patient and will help others of course, and i'd rather take the time to winch someone thru a tough spot than risk them breaking. (me included).

Are you bringing the YJ or Frontier? And do you drive down or trailer it? Camping or hotel?

My plan is to bring the YJ on a trailer. The YJ isn't street friendly and no fenders. I prefer wheeling it anyway for hard stuff. We'll be staying in a cabin. kinda prefer having a shower at night. guess i've gotten soft in the old age!

well ron...looks like I might be able to make some of this trip this year... don't think the jeep is up to pritchett or BFE but would gladly take a spare seat on those... as time gets closer I will get back to you...

This trip is still on of course if anyone wants to join. We'll schedule a couple of relaxing easier trails in here so no fear. I don't think there will be a lot of empty seats but who knows.
It'd be great to wheel with ya again Sean; we'll do the hard stuff with me watching your line to see how its done haha. I'd like to do pickle again with ya as that was a lot of fun last year.

Boy I'd really like to do this but it sounds just a little too hardcore for my Heep. Have fun!

I think we'd be glad to have ya all. I'll plan a couple of easier trails that would have no body damage.
